Steering Column gas vs. diesel

I have a 95 diesel that I am swapping out the cab from a 95 gasoline truck. Can you use the steering column from the gas truck with the diesel. The reason I am asking is that the gas steering wheel has the wide pattern cruise control and horn buttons due to the air bag in the center vs. everything located in the horn pad on the diesel and no air bag. If there is just an electrical problem between the two types of steering wheels, then can you just swap steering wheels?

Other that the air bag not being plugged up, the other plugs for the horn and cruise plugged right up to the diesel dash harness, but the horn or cruise does not work.

Thanks,
Roger
