old, dry cable snapped - not sure what it is

I was doing some basic maintenance today and noticed a small cable had dried up and snapped. I have attached a diagram of under the hood in hopes I can this easier. I can take a photo of it if necessary.

It's the cylinder in the very top left. I can't find it labelled in anything so I'm unsure of what it is.

Is it a white cable?, that cyl is part of the ac system if I'm understanding what your saying usually covered in condensation after running it

Yep! Actually I should say it looks more like a white hose.

Mine is the same way.. looks like the white "tube" goes into a vacuum switch and then gets routed into the loom, but not sure what it is or how to fix it? I guess I could just join the two ends back together then put some heat shrink on it to fix it?

It's a vacuum hose for the HVAC. Heat shrink will fix it.

It closes the hvac system to use inside air instead of outside air when using max a/c
