Question Power door lock remaval and install

97 front door power door lock removal and installation. I think I have to drill out the rivit on the door jam to remove the actuator. Is this correct? If so what do you use to reinstall the actuator with a new or a modified actuator? Any help will be greatly appriciated.

Well let me think, why would someone desire to remove the power door actuators? Oh I know, I am getting ready for a drag race event and need to lighten up the truck! I would rather have CRS than DNS. Thanks for the help a little levity goes a long way.

It has been a long time since I replaced one of those. I'm pretty sure you drill out the rivets and mount it back with rivets. If I recall, the rivets are pretty large.
