battery gauge

every morning i come accross the same problem and im not sure if its a serious problem. when i start my truck up the battery gauge fluctuates between normal and the high end and my idle goes up and down with the guage but it does settle after a while. any help would be great. thanks

Well. When the engine is running, the alternator is charging the battery. So I'm thinking the gauge is going up and down with your idle, not the other way around.

Heh, UNLESS ... in the completely highly ridiculously unlikely event that your batt. gauge is shorted with your tach. LOL, don't see that happening though.
