My truck started doing the same thing about two months ago.
My mechanic had the truck for 4 days and couldn't make it happen while he had it and no codes. He checked cam sensor, fuel pump, injector pump and everything tested OK.
I'd really love if somebody had any ideas

Try a new FORD CPS, mine did the same thing. New CPS and no probs for two months. Don't get aftermarket either, my aftermarket was bad out of the box (BWD from Advanced). A new dark blue Motorcraft and she runs great now, 1 MPG less though...

If it's not that then is sounds like an electrical problem, note driving conditions and any accessories running when it happens. Does anything else happen besides truck dieing?
