dip stick tube hole

The nut that attaches the dipstick tube to the oil pan is messed up. It will not tighten up. The threads on the nut are almost gone. The threads on the piece sticking out of the oil pan looks good. I saw this kit oil level gauge - oil level kit Riffraff Diesel: Oil Level Gauge - Oil Pan Repair Kit. Anyone else have this problem with the oil tube nut? Can I just buy a nut to screw it back on or do I have to buy this kit? Thanks.

PS it throws plenty of oil out the hole onto my exhaust pipe.

You can buy the kit but the threads in the pan are possibly shot, not allowing you to thread anything onto them.

price

Wow that part would be nice and easy, but $300 vs the $45 is the issue now. I need to check threads to see if they are good. Any other tips or parts to fix this are appreciated.

I just bought all the parts from the kit at local stores, aside from the file to correct the threads, I didn't have that problem tho, just the o ring in there and in the tube
