1994.5 powerstroke death wobble

Ok my buddy said he "broke the diff" on the front of his truck.. And that if he replaced the gears he needed an alignment.... Was fishy sounding so I went over and took a look, he seems to have broken the ujoint on the axle that connects to the wheel.. Could this cause a death wobble? And how much to replace it and how hard is it for a first timer p.s. I'm weak and this thing is a damn rust bucket.. RRRUUUSSSST all over so everything is gonna need some... Persuasion

I assume this is a f250 with the Dana 50? That joint could cause some wobble but the death wobble that usually occurs on these trucks is caused by the woRn bushing where the ttb attaches to the chassis. Parts for the Dana 50 are hard to find these days. I had a ring and pinion break in my 50 and just did a dana 60 swap. If he needs any parts for that 50 I still have everything I polled out of mine.
