Fixed yet? What happened when it first quit? Were you driving or just trying to start or what? Is it cold? Do you have a block heater? (NOt sure of your location) if that is an issue). I know that my truck will start and quit if it is not plugged in. If I plug it in it starts and runs good but I'm in Canada and it gets below freezing quite often in winter.
Check fuel pressure, is it consistent? Sounds like it could be running out of fuel for some reason. I guess you could check HPOP (not sure if your going off of computer data or mechanical guages)as well with mech guages-put guages in line and watch what they do(3000psi) guage at least, 4-5000 would be better as pressure does get up there if you rev it up. I used a #6 JIC running Tee and adaptor FM #6 JIC and FM pipe for guage($12) plus a guage (had already) and I happened to have a hose (3000psi w#6 JIC M& FM ends) about 3' so I could read it in the cab while cranking. I hate to see someone replace a bunch of parts that didn't need to be. Sometimes need to "see" or have more info of what is going on in the engine before replacing parts. I haven't done a lot with PS diesels but have done fair bit of mechanic work. Fuse 22 on my truck went a couple times but then it didn't fire at all. Could be electrical issue, if it is that wouldn't be fun. Should be able to wiggle and pull on wires and hope that something shows up. |
