Is my alt. going bad also?

I just replaced my alternator under 2k ago and Now my volt meter is droping to 8 or shooting as i acc. to the top end. then other times its just find. The votage is deffefenlty changing its not just a loose conection on the gauge because my aircond. runs different as it changes. Any ideas

I would first wiggle the pigtail going into the alt while it is running with a DVOM on the battery, if it jumps around while you wiggle it then the pigtail is bad, you can usually pick them up at the auto parts store for $10 or so.
