Water in fuel light

My water in fuel light keeps coming on at random times, and even if I drain the fuel bowl it will go out and 5 minutes later come back on. Do I have to drain some water seperator somewhere i cant find on the internet? i just turn the yellow lever and watch my money fall on the ground.

Sometimes it takes a while to get all the water out. Next time you drain it, drain it to a glass jar (you can put some hose on the end of the drain tube to help) and let it settle a bit. If there is water in the fuel, you will be able to tell. Cheers!

I've been told the water in fuel sensor is very sensitive. Mine goes on & off, and just glows every once in a while. I find this happens during drastic temperature changes, which may cause some condensation in the tanks.

Is it possible the sensor is bad in your truck? I've got 354k and have never replaced mine.....

Well it only comes on in the beginning of driving, maximum 2 minutes long, then goes away.

What's the chance there is a frayed wire or bad sensor that when cold, contracts and looses contact. Then it get warm, expands and makes contact shutting the light??
