simple question!!

Short and simple: the a/c compressor is seized on my 96 PS, therefore turning on the defroster forces the belt to drag across the pulley. I disconnected the plug from the top of the compressor so that i could use the defroster without activating the a/c and was wondering if this is okay to do on a permanent basis? i dont ever use the a/c, so i dont care if it ever works again...i just am curious if i can leave it unplugged and be done with it?
Thanks

Yeah, it seemed like a no brainer, yet having a second opinion always is reassuring for even the simplest of tasks.
Thanks!

Disabling the pump will let you select defrost mode so you can divert warm air to blow on the inside of your windshield but the AC system pulls moisture out of the air to make the defroster more effective.
