Can I wait?

I have had my truck for 3 months and I have been trying to eliminate a fuel leak. So far i have rebuilt the fuel bowl and replaced the related hoses but the leak persists. I have now narrowed it down to the pump. I did plan to replace the lift pump after the holidays but I have to travel overseas in February for a couple of weeks and need every spare bit of cash available.

My question is, Is it likely to get much worse than the current situation (waffle sized puddle on the driveway) and how bad can it get and how fast? I would like to leave it for now so what is the worst that can happen?
