bad PCM and I can't find one - please help!

I've got a 1997 E450 van front bus with a F6TF-12A650-AZE computer that is not working.

The trans won't shift unless you move the shifter manually and will jump out of 3rd gear which burnt up the trans. I had the trans rebuilt and now I'm in search of a new PCM but apparently I have the unicorn of Ford computers. I'm not sure if any of the other computers will work in my bus or not. So any help is greatly appreciated!

again the part number on the computer is F6TF-12A650-AZE

and the PCM calibration code is 690B-R02

The information I found on that part number doesn't go with a 97 E450:

YEAR.....CODE.....CALIB........MODL TYPE.....ECM PART #..................APP............................ .............MODULE APP.................TEMPLATE
1995.....PRE4.....6-90B-R02.....DPC-202.....F6TF-AZE 7.3L.....F-SUPER DUTY DIESEL - AUTOMATIC.....50S/ALT/CAN...............FA20M0G

If it's really a DPC-202, you should be able to find one of those fairly easily. Cheers!

my title says its a 1997 but the computer has a 1996 build date on it and a place I called online told me it was a 1996 as well.

I can not find anything to go in it and I need to get it on the road next week!

do you have a link or number to somewhere I can call to get one please??

Just based on the numbers from your current ECM (or PCM), this should work for you:

STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS Part # EM1409

I purchased a PCM from them for my 94 and it worked just fine. Cheers!

yup that's the right one, they just don't have it in stock and no estimated date just my luck!

You can try this one but I hate buying from any online PCM company. Been burned a couple times.

I'm not having no luck! even that goecm.com link they don't have one either.

is there anyway to find out if a different computer will work in my bus? I'm trying to get this thing running for the weekend and I'm calling everywhere but it seems this is some sort of dinosaur computer and nobody has it or anything that will work...

I don't know much about E-Series Fords. If it has single shot injectors then try running any 94.5 - 96 7.3L PCM. If you have double shot injectors then find a god and prey. The drivers side valve cover should say if it has single of multi-shot injectors.

A DPC-202 will be for single shots. You could try another PCM for a 95-96 Auto (not positive it would work, but it just might). You might be able to have someone like DP Tuner reflash it for you. Cheers!

still no luck with the AZE computer but I was told by flagship in NY that I can use an AZF or AZG and also a 97 computer F7TF-12A650-UA or UB

any ideas where to find one of these? I can't believe its this hard to get a computer for sure I'm not the only one out there with this problem..
