Soiled my new pavement
Went to pull into work this am and as I was backing into my spot I felt the steering give and there was a bump noise from under the hood. As I backed up the steering got really stiff. I noticed there was fluid all over the pavement in front of me. Upon inspection I noticed that one of the lines on the steering gear box blew off spraying PS fluid all over. It is the upper fitting on the top side of the gearbox. Does anyone have a parts description or number to order another one instead of having to rely on my local high school flunky at the parts counter? Not all parts guy's are bad just the one in my two light town.

I had the high pressure line blow out of the pump (not the box), which is the usual complaint. I don't know how the line would blow out of the box (they are flare or inverted flare, can't remember which). The part number is:
Power Steering Hose (High Pressure) (Ford) F4TZ-3A719-D (Napa) NPS 72409 Cheers! |
