HPOP installation questions please.

Is there anything special that I should do when switching the hose elbows from a 15* hpop to a 17*?

I have a new HPOP to timing cover gasket. The 17* is a reman and has the quick connect elbows. I need to transfer my threaded elbows to the 17*. Are the elbows o-ringed?

Now that I have seen the inside of the reservoir, I have a pretty good understanding of it all now. I think that my reservoir was draining through the HPOP to timing cover gasket, as evidenced by oil in the valley. I guess once I get it back together, I'll no for sure.

There was some sort of RVT on the HPOP. I thought that was strange because though I didn't buy this truck new, I did buy it when it was only a year and a half old, in 1998. Should I use RVT when reinstalling? I have a brand new HPOP gasket.

Both fittings (new and old) have o-rings. The RTV might have just been on there to help the install, hold the gasket in place while assembling the parts. I wouldn't recommend using RTV because if you get out of control with it you don't want that stuff in your injection system but I did use a little bit of RTV on the HPOP sprocket access cover.

Sorry, haven't been back here in a while. I don't think that I have any pics, but I'll take a look.

Here are a few pics. Nothing much to see though.

This one I took of my wife getting prepared to takeoff, and the truck just happens to be there. Yeah, we fly powered parachutes.

In this one, I'm getting ready to takeoff.

And this one is one of my new trailer when I brought it home last year.
