Hiccup when starting
I've got a '97 f-250 powerstroke, just broke 100k miles on it. The glow plugs have been replaced recently and the rig fires fine when it's really cold (usually). Lately, every now and then when I start the rig after sitting over night or for a couple days, it does the normal eh eh eh but instead of firing right up after that, it almost pauses or hiccups for a split second then fires rough, out of rhythm, it always smokes much more when it does this too. It makes me cringe every time it does this cause it just doesn't feel right at all. Any ideas?

For the heck of it, clean the FPR screen. Mine was doing funky stuff at startup also, and cleaning the fpr screen made it a new truck.
