Testing...
Been a week without my truck, and I just can't seem to narrow the possible answers... I have a few ideas, but I need ways to eliminate them. My '94 PSD has rough idle, very low power, and eng. light (scanner didn't pull any codes). Feels like lack of fuel. How can I test my fuel pump (REALLY don't wanna replace it if I don't have to!). Could the high pressure oil pump be bad? How do I test it? Also, do these trucks have supply pumps in the tanks, or is there just the one pump in the engine valley that does all the work?
Need help ASAP! I need to make a trip out of town, but I'm basically grounded until I get my diesel running again! |

if you have a check engine light for one , you will have codes , the scanner you are using probably wont pull the codes , use a better scanner , very doubtful its fuel pressure , m,ay not hurt to run a pressure test , but at this point your best bet is to get it on a good scanner and run codes and injector buzz test , something tells me you very well may have a wiring harness to the injectors bad

How do I run that pressure test. I can run to a parts store and rent a tester once I know the proceedure.
