Why would NEW bushing between drag link and inner tie rod go bad?

Last year I had my drag link and inner tie rod replaced. Within a couple of months, the bushing was shredded and just hanging there. Between the time I had those components replaced and noticing the bushing the truck had not been off road nor had it been in any aggressive driving situations.

So besides just being a bad part, what other factors could cause this?

I have a lot of oil/fuel residue down there due to a leak I haven't pinpointed yet and the mechanic thought that maybe that could have caused it but that doesn't make any sense to me.

Unfortunately, I don't know what brand they used. They replaced all my ball joints when they did the tie rods and they used Moogs on those so I would assume they used a decent part on that bushing. But then again, I am newb at this so what do I know.

They did replace the bushing just last week since it was under warranty so we'll see what happens.
