Dip stick leak repair flub up......
Trying to search but couldn't really find anything. So trying to repair the leak from my dip stick flange nut. Got the kit from diesel O-rings. Anyway during the process of cussing and bending, the pipe cleaner came out and I heard the large metal piece fall to the bottom of the pan.... Am I stuck with pulling the pan or is there something, ANYTHING I can do to keep from doing that?

Could I possibly drop the pan just enough to get my arm in there to fish it out?

I've read you have to pull the engine to drop the pan. Some have cut a hole in the pan to get it and then welded a patch over it. Some have had success with a camera and grabber thing-a-ma-jig. There are write ups with pics on here if I remember. Good luck.

Ok, I know what a borescope is. What kind of grabber thingy are we talking about here? Thanks guys. I'm stressing out on this...

Awesome thank you bud. Now... what about the o ring? That fell into the abyss with the flange. Do I chance it? Or am I stuck fishing that out?
