What does the AA,AB,AC, etc stand for on the IDM module? Does it matter which one I replace my existing one with?

probally just been updates I know the new ones are sealed better
I use to work at a ford dealership, always had a spare one just for testing never had a problem with mixing each

Yes, updates. Any time ford makes a change, "even a color" aa becomes ab.

You should replace it with the identical code due to updates in injector styles.
