turn signal

righ incab turn signal indicator works intermitantly. all outside lights work. left incab indicator works 100 percent of the time. Shouldnt be the bulb because a bulb either works or it doesnt. ????

turn signal

i sure hope not cause that means pulling the steering wheel right? is there any way to trouble shoot the system? I was first leaning towards the flasher in the under dash fuse box but not sure if that could only affect the right indicator.

Nope, Just undo the 5 screws that hold the column cover on. Then lower the bottom plate. pop the ignition cylinder out. pull the top plate off and you will see the two torx screws holding it in. I doubt the flasher as it is for both sides. Do the 4 ways work?

It's probably not the switch. Don't have the diagram in front of me, but AFAIK, the switch doesn't have separate contacts for the dashboard telltales; that's just a split in the wire downstream of the switch somewhere. It's probably in intermittent connection at the cluster, or the bulb. And yes, of course a bulb can work intermittently. If the filament comes loose on one side, it can sit against the post and light up, and then with movement/vibration, move away and not light up.

Edit: confirmed - per the 1995 EVTM, for each side, there's only one wire coming out of the switch for the front. It goes to the cluster tell-tale, and splits off there to go to the outside light on the front end.

4 ways are currently working as is the l/r turn indicators. i would have to drive around awhile and wait for the right indicator to not work and then check the 4 ways. I had this problem a few years back, took the dash apart and before i changed the bulb it started workig again, so... i put it back together.

It would almost seem like the ribbon is going bad on the back of your gauges and making intermittent contact
