glow plug relay solenoid, does it have to be a deisel one

I replaced my solenoid with a similiar non deisel one because my parts store did not have my particular one . does this matter? Im still trying to work out my morning starting problem.

I'm thinking it would be OK if it's same voltage, amps, and everything else. I guess a solenoid is a solenoid. My

You can get by with the ol ford style solenoid for awhile but your gonna wanna swap it out for a glow plug relay soon, I can't remember the specs on the two but there is a difference.

The glow plug relay has a longer duty cycle rating. I think it is 100%. The old starter relays can't hold up with long durations of current.
