'94 E-350 is dead--for now

i have a 94 e-350 that is dead in my driveway...for the past 3 months. it has(had) a 7.3L indirect injection engine. the block and heads have multiple cracks. these items have been deemed unserviceable by our local machinists. the block is sitting out in my driveway--about to go to the scrapyard. SO..my question is: can i put the 6.9 or 7.5turbo into my chassis? will the same tranny work? will it be possible to rework the wiring harnesses, ecu, etc? help!!! this van is very important for my work!
thanks

welcome to the site, you probbly wont want to put in a 6.9 liter in your van. the 7.3 is much better, i would just get a reman 7.3.

great idea, man. problem: 7.3 engine is not available. the companies want to rebuild my engine and send it back. my block is dead dead dead. i dont have $7300 that it would cost to get another 7.3 non turbo. the other engine types are a fraction of the cost. Ford says that the 7.3 indirect was obsolete with the '94s. so, i guess i am screwed.

I'm not sure want you would have to do, but i figured a non turbo 7.3 would be cheaper, but i guess not. You would problty have to do some computer and wiring work, the tranny should bolt up. But whatever you do dont get the 6.9. 7.3 is way better.

yeah. man..i agree, the 6.9 is not really that great.....wish i could go turbo...but i am new to this end of mechanic work.. we thought the engine just had cracked heads...so i spent $1200....put it back together, back into the van. arrggghhh. 38 cylinder fills with coolant, the oil pan has coolant in it too! so we took the motor out again and that's where i am right now wioth the project.. any help, ideas , critisim is appreciated. thanks

thanks...i will check out jasper. as far as junkyards, there are no 7.3's around here excepts for 2 in some tow trucks that are still working. this was a great engine--one of the best from international! Would it be DOable to put a 7.3L DI?
