High Pressure A/C Line

I have a '94 PSD. The high pressure A/C line is leaking at the shraeder valve (although it doesn't actually look like a shraeder valve, more like a ball bearing that is supposed to seat against the inside of the valve, preventing leaking). Anyway, the sniffer is going crazy and I can hear the valve leaking, so I'm confident this is the starting point of my problem.

Every parts store lists the suction and discharge tube assy. I don't think I need this full assy. There is a small section of hard-line that threads into the back of the compressor and leads to my condensor. There is a threaded joint that allows this hard-line to be removed prior to entering the condensor. Do any of you know if I can simply buy this small section of hardline and replace it instead of the entire assy?

Thanks in advance.

On my 95 I had a leak in the High pressure line also. I had to replace the whole line assembley. Three years ago it was over $100.00. I know thats not what you wanted to here.

You might check with an air conditioning repair shop they might be able to make you one up. If not try a hydraulic repair shop like a Parker Store, you wouldn't belive what they can build for ya and how cheap it is. For example I got my high pressure oil cross over line built at the local parts store for $22 and some change, beats the $50 I was quoted for one!!!
