ignition switch problem
Yesterday I went to start up my truck (95 f-350 dually) it felt like the ignition switch broke. Now I Dan start it but not shut it off. And power stays on all the time. I have to pull the ignition fuse for it ti shut off. I replaced the ignition switch and its still broke. What do you thing the next thing to look at is?
Thank you |

Its not the ignition switch. Inside the steering column there are two rods that move the actuator. The rods are hooked together inside the column with a very small pin. What happens is the plastic becomes worn and the pin falls out which will not pull the rod back turning off actuator when ignition is turned off. The part its self was only like $12 at dealership and its a stock part cause they wear out often i'm told. Actually the parts guy at the dealership I went to looked at part and went and got it with out any info about what it went for. I pulled the column and had Dealership replace part (which mine did for free). Total time for repair was about 2-3 hrs including trip to dealership. Hope this helps.
