lost programer

[97powerstroke CC]

I just bought a 97 powerstroke crew cab long box 4x4 350
the guy I bought it from told me that it had a 60hp tuner in it but forgot to give it to me with the truck. i cant get ahold of the guy now and was wondering if this was going to cause me problems in the future when it comes time to add a different chip. I know it has been turned up because it rolls black smoke and I average 14 empty or loaded. Any help would be appreciated looking for better milage.
