95 Ford f350 PSD 7.3L
I am a new member and hopefully someone on the forum can help, because the dealership can't seem to fix it after 5 months and a few thousand dollars.
I have a 95 f350 7.3L PSD, the vehicle would die while driving, sometimes would restart, sometimes not. If you let is sit for a day or 2 or 3, it may start back up. While at the dealership, the CPS (common Problem) was replaced, then the injector Relay (common Problem), then injector pump / fuel pump (replaced after 11k miles, again 2 days out of warranty). We Picked up the vehicle and it drove approx 100 miles and died, again no restart. Had the vehicle towed back to the dealership, After Picking the vehicle up, drove approximately 30 miles and the vehicle died and would not restart. Had the vehicle towed back to the dealership and am informed that the vehicle runs fine and it is ready. Again, Picked up the vehicle, approx 40 miles later, you guessed it, dies again and will not restart. Towed back to the dealership, they cannot duplicated concern after supposedly driving hundreds of miles. Am due to pick up the vehicle on Friday, dont suspect of driving more than 30-40 miles without it dying. Any suggestions on what may have been overlooked, Have a meeting with the General Manager of the Dealership and the Service Manager, just want to have my information ready, all help is greatly appreciated. Does it sputter and quit or just die like you shut the key off? Does it have a chip installed?

cracked wires can let oil into the wires increasing resistance and then causing the injectors to not fire and the truck to die. mine was doing it and it would be fine for hundreds of miles and the act up and then be fine, but the intervals kept getting shorter to the point that it would start and die and then not restart until you gave it a little time to cool. then start and die and repeat, but if i remember it was more of an abrupt thing like turning off the key
