New psd owner with a few questions

just bought my first psd and i am in love. been driving my dad's 89 7.3 for a few years and WOW the turbo makes a difference.

I would like to clear a few things up with my "new" truck.....

it is a 96 with 207K it has a TS 6 position chip 3" downpipe to 4"exhaust. KN cold air intake and that's about it for the motor.

I get a big cloud of white smoke during cold start that goes away when it warms up. no starting issues, no rough idle and no loss of power. chip is on stock setting, glow plugs are brand new and valve cover seals have just been changed. Should i be worried???

Also, i have no brake lights. taillights, blinkers, and hazards work. there is nothing plugged in to the brake switch and i see no trace of the wires that should be. should there be wires or do they use a different switch with the cruise control?

Sorry to be so greedy on my first post!!

Welcome to the .ORG...I would recommend changing the K&N out for a 6637 filter and would highly suggest putting gauges in...

nice choice on a truck! im sure one of the "experts" here will correct me if im wrong but my dad has a 95 with 285,000 on it tends to do the same thing; blow some light smoke til she warms up has been that way as long as i can remember so i dont think i would worry too much. as long as it goes away when it warms up. for the brake sw question as far as i know there is just one that operates the light and the cruise cancel.
