significant oil leak

Well its just that, i've got a pretty decent oil leak on the forward half of the drivers side of the engine. It leaks about 3 qts every 1000 mi. Been trying to locate it for awhile now, but it's difficult to determing exactly where its coming from as the whole lower 1/2 of the drivers side of the truck is wet with oil. It seems to be somewhere close to the power steering pump below the exhaust manifold. Anyone know of any common leak points in this area?

Can't think of any motor oil lines located where you indicate.Maybe a good steam clean and check it again, that's a lot of oil.Might just eyeball it while someone revs it.Fan probably would blow it all over?

Front of driver side head has a plug. the plug is about 2 inches in diameter and has a half inch breakover slot to tighten or loosen. the plug has an o ring behind it. if these leak it can be quite considerable. The plug caps of the oil galley in the head that feeds the injectors. May be running down front of head then towards the back when you are driving it. I have seen this happen a number of times.
