Glow Plug Relay question

If I replace the GPR and not the plugs themselves, will a bad plug(s) cause the new GPR to fail? And is there any way either could cause a drain on the battery? The truck stopped holding a charge when it got cold. Not sure if its related, but the EBPV or something that produces similar effects is also not working right. thanks for any help or ideas

it shouldn't efect your new gpr, how old are your batteries cause you need a good set of batteries especially in the cold for these diesels i had similar problems changed my batteries and had no more problems with drained batteries
