ICP and low power

Hey guys/gals, I have a 1996 f-350 7.3l 4x4 with 210,000 with some mods no muffler/cat, cold intake, 6-position bully dog chip. The truck runs good but I noticed the ICP censor is bad, oil is leaking out of it. Will that cause hard starting in the morning and low power? The truck has very low power till I switch on the bully dog chip and then its ok, even warm. And the truck has a bit of a idle problem, it idles up and down a bit. I was wondering if this could be because of the ICP. and any one know the cheapest place to order one?

your ICP is definitely bad if you are seeing oil. cheapest seems to be at the International Dealer. low power could be several things: Bad IDM, bad throttle position switch, low oil in HPOP reservoir.

Thanks how do you check the throttle position switch? is that under the pedel? i do hear a click when i step on it. dont know if thats normal? and how do you check the idm? thanks

i am going through this with my 03 7.3 and it is the icp,mine has dropped power because of the bad sensor.
ebay has the sensor for 65 to 89 bucks

awsome thanks. I talked to a guy and he said i need to replace the pigtail to the sencor. is that true? or just spray with electrial cleaner? and what size crows foot do i need for it?

from what ive read if there is oil in the plug-in then the sensor is bad no matter what,if you are just replaceing the connector you dont have to remove the sensor.
and the crows foot you will need is either a 15mm or a 5/8

i just got a icp for 70 buckd from ebay.
yes replace the pigtail, their are a lot of tsb's about icps and the pig tail going to it.

as far as low power, peplace the icp and go from there. you could also clean the filter and screen in you fpr on the side of you fuel bowl, and check you fuel filter.

Thanks. When i bought the truck last febuary, i replaced the fuel filter in october and it was completely black. and had a oily feel to it. I don't know if that's normal because it went a long time between filter change, or it has a problem. I just checked the filter last week and it looked great. So i don't know???
