slow waking up

I have a 97 power stroke. Whenever i crank it up it has to idle for at least five minutes before it will go. When you mash the pedal it will jump to about 1500 rpms and puff black smoke. After the five minutes or so it does fine. ANy help would be appreciated.

its just cold blooded. but are there any other symptoms???

thats about it. Its more aggravating than anything. Someone told me it might be the injectors.

it could be, black smoke would seem like they are working just fine. its probably the EBPV acting up, that happens a lot in winter
