Hypertech problem!!!

I have a 2000 6 speed manual 7.3 and yesterday i let my buddy put his programmer (hypertech) in my truck. I ran it down the road on the 100hp setting to see how she ran. When i was running it i noticed when i got to the top end of a gear at around 3000rpm it would start declining in rpms....almost like it was acting like and automatic shifting through gears...what im saying is i couldnt redline it! Now (after i took the programmer out) its still doing it. Almost feels like something is slipping and not letting me go all the way through the gears. Up to 3000 rpm then even if i press the pedal down the rpm start to fall and my truck falls on its face! It does this is every gear....do i need new belts or something? I have no clue here guys....HELP!

sounds like the hypertech screwed you and wont give up the rev limiter. that or you are over boosting causing it to derate.

Wow so you think the hypertech put a rev limiter on my truck and when we de-installed it the rev limiter stayed on the truck? How does that happen? Bc the hypertech was then installed back into his truck with now problems.....

im sorry its a DIABLO SPORT PREDATOR!! I dont know why i typed hypertech but regardless they both have rev limiters so that could be it! I just talked to my buddy and he said he never could install the program back into his truck last night after i left....soooo im thinking there is some kind of tune left in my truck but no gains in hp or smoke.....so i dont know what kind of tune it would be!? But we are meeting back up this afternoon to see if there is a "return to stock" option! Thanks for the help!
