leaking fuel and no power until warms up

I have a 96 f250 7.3 liter turbo diesel. It leaks fuel and has no power until the truck warms up. Can't really tell where the fuel leak is coming from, not that familiar with diesels as of yet. After the truck warms up, it stops leaking fuel and will tach out. The guy we got this truck from ran sea foam through it, and that's when it started acting up. Any help, suggestions, or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

My 96 had the same problem about a year ago. My problem was the Water in Fuel sensor. The other culprit can be the rubber o-rings on the drain for the fuel bowl. I replaced those first, only the find the WIF sensor leaking. Hopefully it is the WIF, as it is much easier to replace than the fuel bowl drain o-rings.

Ok, thanks for the info! I will try the WIF and see if that fixes it, although the light has never come on to indicate water in the fuel. It was leaking from the vacuum switch when we first got the truck, replaced that hoping it would fix the problem which it did fix the leak from that particular part. But still have the same problem with it not running right and leaking fuel from somewhere else until it warms up.

Yeah I never had the indication light for water in fuel when the sensor was leaking. It may very well be leaking from another location as well. However, if it is what happened to me, the fuel leaks into the valley below the turbo, and disperses from there, giving the illusion that the leak is coming from multiple locations.

Thanks again for the reply. I took the truck to the shop this morning and had it put on the computer, apparently I need to check the wiring harnesses going to the injectors to see if I have any leads burnt, and then go from there. Great truck, just SO expensive! I figured if I could get straight to the source, it would help with the expense instead of replacing this, then replacing that and troubleshooting more and more. We are on an extremely tight budget since being layed off from our jobs over two years ago.
