i would defiantly look at teh idle pulley. they will seize up and go through belts. look at the pulley and see if you see any markings on it like were the belt just burned. it owuld look something like when you spin your tires on teh pavement. see if it spins freely. but that is defiantlyy our problem. change it out and let us know how it works out for you. hope this helps.

Smile Belt slip

My rebuilt 7.3 was throwin belts like crazy....
until the belt tensioner, (spring loaded) assembly disentergrated.
The part is not all that $$$ pull your belt and run your fingers around the tensioners wheels, you would feel resistance or other type complications , than thats the ticket.... follow up and let us know if it werks
GOOD LUCK

if its not the idler or the tensioner its the pulley allignment i have changed the vacuum pump and p/s pump and needed to swap the pulley's over to the new one's and if the pulley's are off even a little bit it will chew up the belt in no time
