Pcm

How often when the PCM goes does the idm go to or do they both go at the same time

96 F-250 7.3 Powerstroke
5 Speed with a Upgraded Clutch
K&N Cold Air Intake
Edge Evoultion Programmer
4" Pipe Turbo Back to Cab, 5" from cab to 5" Stacks
33" Tires
Isspro Pyro and Boost Gauge

ive seen both fail stroker....but not at the same time.....also it is pretty rare either fail...but the IDM is a little more common than the PCM........Marc

Well my pcm is gone that is being replace. The dealer said the guy who had it before me had a chip in it and that is his guess why it short in it. I just hope both of them didnt go. I have a programmer and he said he has never seen that cause that so he said it would have to be that chip that was hooked up to it.

help

Ok ive got a stupid question. Where is the pcm and the code im trying to find the # so I can buy me a Dp tuner. but i cant find the darn thing any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

96 F250 XLT 4x4 crew cab SB PSD, 4.10 gears,5 speed manuel tranny, 4" lift, 35's,Autometer gauges, 3" down pipe, 4" Magnaflow exhaust with gutted cat, Tymar style intake, Banks intercooler, quick spin turbo, 6 pos DP-Tuner .

there is a sticker on pcm. mine was on the back so you gota pull it out to get to it. there's also a sticker some where else, i think around the door by the hinges?? go to the ts web site. they have directions to take it out and it only takes about 15 minutes to do it. no big deal.
