overdrive light

my dad has a 96 f 250 7.3L stroker, automatic, just recently the overfrive indicator light has been flicking on and off. it'll still shift in and out of overdrive when you push the button but the light flickers so it;s hard to tell if your in overfrive or not. anyone every heard of this before if so what might be causing this to happen. oh thanks for everyones help on my truck with the ebpv problem, it still doesn't run right with the vavle open and shut. i'm thinking the fuel pump might be bad thats why it's not accelerating like normal and it's having the engine miss who knows. any help with my dads problem would be greatly apprecaited....

The OD light will blink if the ECM stores a tranny fault code, I would take it to your local tranny shop and have them run a daignostic on it and see what they come up with, most will do this for free
