2 quick questions???
Can some tell me what the 17* hpop does to the truck? I read the write-up in the Tech section, but its doesnt mention what exactly it does.
Will the shimming the FRP give me any powers gains or just waste more fuel? My truck seems to start and idle fine, or maybe its just the warm weather down here in florida. Thanks for the help guys, Adam |

In my opinion, the FPR shim didn't increase my power but it does bump up fuel pressure, thus in theory, more power. |

the fpr shim is only need when you have a older weaker spring imo.

yes you can get a 17* out of a 99-03 SD and it will be a direct bolt on to the OBS. I found mine for $325 shipped. Sorry to use your thread but you may need it in the future too if you plan to do this mod so does anybody have the link to the write up on how to install the 17* in the OBS?

17* pumps will flow more. It is not a pressure issue.
The FPR shim is done if your fuel pressure is low. If you have enough fuel pressure already you will see NO GAINS. If you are currently starving your injectors then you will. You have to put a gauge on it to see what your pressure is. Do not just throw a BB in there because everyone on the internet is doing it. JJ |
