Built Tranny?

I'm looking at buying a smoked tranny from a member on the org here, waiting on some phone calls and e-mails from a few people first.

Anyway, how much power should I be making before I really need a fully built tranny? Or can I just use a high performance TQ? What are my options and what would you recommend?

Tyler if you are going that route. Just have BTS build it and never have to worry about it again

Whats one of those run? Any idea on what a core is worth? The one I'm looking at is totally smoked, and $200 for shipping

Tyler i'd talk to your shops around you and see what they say. I've heard of a few shops that will build them and they will hold what ever you throw at them and if they dont they will make it right. Just gotta ask the right questions.

BTS usually runs about 4k. If its rebuildable they use your core

I'd offer somewhere around 2-300 for the case. they will probably want about 700 for it.

If you were to put some stage 1's and a chip on your truck, you would be fine with a valve body or shift kit, and a heavy duty torque converter. If you tow alot of weight, often, then a built tranny would be a good idea.
