custom air intake

anybody ever modified there stock air intake. I was thinking about cutting the plastic around it and make it all open. I figured for free its no bad idea

i wanted a cold air kit too but i wasent spending 250 bucks... so i went to homedepot bought a 4in dryer vent tube and a cold air filter from advance auto parts for like 30 bucks and put it together....in the end it costs like 40 it wasent hard to do and iam only 16 and its my first truck....it wont let me post any pics but if you want to see them i can email them to you... my email is ngghd92@aim.com ......... there is another posting on here with alot of pics of custom intakes... good luck hope i helpd out
