97 HP Build up Help

My buddy bought a stock 97 CC 4WD that just turned 100,000 miles. Awsome Forest Green, Grey Int......Super clean 4"lift for 9k. Now he wants to get some HP out of it. Going in for a tranny next week. Full ATO Race Tranny. Then gauges. It will get a 4" straight pipe and a moded H2e turbo. Studs, Water meth, 03 intercooler, complete fuel system, dual oil pumps and a DP Tuner with custom tune by Jody D. What do you think the HP will be to the wheels. What mod would you do and what are the proven combos to make 450 or more HP. With it studed, what will the stock rod hold. Please give your .02 cents worth.

add a set of 250cc or so hybrids he should be 500+hp. as far as rods alot depends on tuning seen some forged rod motors at 600+hp and be fine some have windowed the block at 400hp

rods

97 rods will hold 600 or more.if you drive her nice and tuning got alot to do with it too.injector size and nozzle size plays a factor. you drop the fuel to fast you can drop the bottom end or the top. the key is Balance, tuning and combanation
My 2 cents

For 450+ HP I would recommend 250cc Hybrids with 80% Extrude honed(overstock) nozzles.

As for the rods holding 500+ HP, I would choose a different tuner if you want to do that for long. There are 3-4 trucks in the lime-light running a combo for 550HP-650HP(and making it) RELIABLY, but they arn't using the tuner in question here. Usually their 400-450HP trucks leave their rods on the road after a while.

17 degree high pressure oil pump. It will improve the pressure needed for the larger injectors.

Here's a nice write up on it: How To: 17* HPOP Install ('96 truck) - Powerstroke Nation
