Does this seem like the right amount of boost ?

Hi Guys I just installed a pyro and boost gauge set up in my 97 F250 and was wondering if this sounds right, The most boost pressure I am getting is about 15, I have the diy intake setup a 3" down pipe and then a 4" straight pipe and a Banks Big Hoss chip setup at the 80 hp increase setting does that seem to be a normal reading or does it seem a bit low ?

Thats about normal. I could only hit about 17 before my custom chip. Now with injectors i could hit 40 psi all day...just dont really want to so i dont blow the turbo

It seems a little low to me. I have a Banks Big Hoss chip also, but mine is on the 60 hp setting. I can hit 19 or maybe even 20, but I really have to push it. It is kind of hard to tell as the gauge needle just hits it for an instant. How do you like the 80 hp setting for power and EGTs? I have wondered if EGTs would be okay while towing with the 80 hp setting without an intercooler.

i would go with a custom chip to get good boost i got 15-19 with no chip

Yup thats normal #s with banks parts. I Get around 20 with my TS 6 position chip.

Im running a superchip now and can get 22-23 and Im upgrading to a TS i hope i get more then 20 lol.

I get around 25º during hot summer weather though. 20ish right now currently

I have since upgraded to a level 4 (100 HP) since I was not getting a reading over 750 on the pyro. I just came back from picking up a full load of firewood and ran up the biggest mountian around here with the cruise set at 65 and only hit a bit over 900. Now I know this isnt towing a big trailer but its about the most I will be doing with this truck so for me it seems to be working awesome, and compared to how it was stock there is a very noticable differance ! It went up those hills without kicking out of overdrive and was pulling about 10 or 11 lbs of boost and I could still step on it and easily accelerate. Also with the level 4 setting it now will get up to about 20 - 21 psi as a maximum reading

i have the Banks Big Hoss chip level 4 to..on big inclines or towing the camper alot of the times the pyro will reach 1100 degrees pushing 1200 at the turbo, so i have to back off a bit, and the boost will do about 20-25.. i have a 3 inch downpipe, straight pipe, and the cat is gone...i have to invest in a bigger exhaust though to rid of the heat..
