ok i know nothing about 7.3's and my friend asked me to find him a turbo. he has a 97 with intake, straight pipe, some cheap chip, and i think he has a upgraded tranny. im not sure if he even needs a turbo but he asked me to find him one so im here lol.

i would get a tw chip before the turbo. heard good things about the gtp38r turbo, but not sure the best place to buy

i tried to tell him to get a tw or dp. he bought it from like cheapchips.com or something like that. he had superchips and he said this is way better. idk some people just make no sense.

is his going out?
or just looking for more perf?

if thats the case he needs more fuel, ie, better chip and injectors...

The first thing you need to do for your friend is b!tch slap him upside the head... When he's done crying, tell him to get a custom burned chip. He'll be better off. Then if he's really interested in a new turbo you can tell him about the D66 from beans. It's the only drop in turbo I know of for the 94-97 and early '99 crowd. Its a modded stocker that flows an additional 300cfm IIRC. Also tell him he won't see much gain with just a turbo. His injectors are incredibly small, a set of stage 1 or 2's (along with the custom tuning to run them.. hint, hint...) would be a great idea.

yep thats what i thought. thats what i did in my situation but some people just dont get it. i dont think theres anything wrong with his, i think he just thinks it will make his truck faster.
