EGT's to high?
I was towing the mud truck over the weekend and now that I have my gauges I noticed my egt's are high. Going 60 in o/d there about 1150 -1200 constant. Should I get an intercooler? I endend up towing it out of o/d which was around 1000*. How hot is to hot? Can I tow with my egt's that high? Ive always towed like that but know that I have gauges I notice whats going on with motor. It was a heavy load though truck and atv on the trailer and my bed full of junk around 1500lbs

What tune are you towing in? You can run all day at 1250. Hotter than that for more than a short burst back out of it

thats pretty hot... for cruising at 60mph
if it were me i would get an IC kit and pit it on their... it will easily drop it 200 degrees.... if it still too hot after that get a water meth kit but run straight water... -Raul |

Think I can rig up a water kit for it! Seems easier than an intercooler

I had it set on tow setting but it didnt matter if was on stock or any other for that matter.

A water kit would work as well. But at those temps you will be fine. I should ask is your EGT probe pre or post turbo?

ya you can rig it... you just need something like a snow performance water meth kit

its pre turbo. I heard the snow kits are junk?
