I have a rebuilt PCM in my 97 and somebody before me cleaned the contacts to the cooper on top but not the bottom so I removed the coating using a scotch brite pad on the bottom. Will I have any issues with connecting the chip and it not working?

As I said on the other forum, better to be safe than sorry. The cost to re-tin is much less than the cost of a new PCM

Let us know if we can help.

PM or e-mail me for pricing. Or check out the link to it here... PCM J3 Port Repair - Chip Switches & Misc. - Chips, Programmers and Tuning - 1994.5 - 2003 Powerstroke 7.3L Truck - Ford Powerstroke

You can order directly through the website if you wish.

We can normally get it back out the day after it came in, as long as we are in the office.
