TS chip install problems

I went to install my TS chip and when I moved the switch from position one it would just shut off, and would do the same on all positions. I noticed when I pulled the PCM out that it has had a chip installed previously. It just had silver coating on one side and copper color on the other did the previous owner remove to much from the top side or is that the way it is supposed to be. I tried another PCM and the chip acted the same way. So I am not sure what to do.

There might be to much copper showing which means the chip isn't fully seating. I think that can cause the truck to shut off. Can you post pics of both sides of the PCM?

I tried two pcms and the chip acted the same on both pcms The PCM that was in the truck was all copper on one side and silver on the other. The PCM I swapped in was silver on both sides. So I was just wondering if it was just the chip or do I have to get the PCM recoated if that's possible or what my options where.

Its hard to say without seeing it but it sounds like to much tin was taken off exposing the copper and it's not seating properly. Make sure your chip was tuned with the correct PCM code. If chip is correct I'd be sure the "extra" PCM you tried was cleaned properly. If spare PCM was cleaned properly and don't work I say chip is problem, contact vendor/tuner you bought it from. If cleaned properly and chip works I'd get the PCM retinned. I know Jody at DP tuner does this. Not sure who else does but I'm sure there are more.
