97 f250 downpipe

new to the diesel world. just got a 1997 f250hd only mod is muffler and cat delete with 6in tip. i just got my 3in down pipe in the mail today and had one question on install before i tear is apart. now i understand how to get it in there by hammering away at the fire wall and cutting this and that. but when it come to connecting my 4in exhaust the the 3in down pipe how do i go about that? do i have to have a coupler made by an exhaust shop to get the two pipes to join together or what? i don't see an exhaust clamp, clamping down and sealing an 1in gap. so was just curious of what you guys have done in the past when you installed yours

The cat inlet is 3" so your cat delete should be the same

Alright thanks. I wasnt sure cause it was already done when i bought it so i had no idea what was done to it.

Mite wanna make sure it's the correct diameter otherwise your going to have an open down pipe while you look for someone to fix it
