Wireless Tuning newb questions...

We have a 1996, 7.3L turbo (non-intercooled), C&L air filter (conical) and cat-back stovepipe exhaust.

The truck just holds back in 1st gear for some reason, had several folks say a tune cleans this up (under some conditions the truck will get up and go, or at half pedal it is faster than if floored only in 1st gear, 2nd and 3rd and 4th the truck seems to make full power, 2nd gear actually out-accelerates 1st).

We are looking for "chips"...

I saw all kinds.

I am especially interested in a "wireless" chip (using an Android phone) that allows custom tuning and/or downloading available tunes and trying them out.

Does such a product exist?... recommendations?

(also, would getting a later year intercooler from a junkyard be worth the trouble and would such demand tuning to make it produce noticable gains?)

Thanks all!

Never heard of a "wireless" chip, a ts style 6 pos is easy enough to install tho, and if you tow or have larger injectors an Intercooler would be of great benifit

The Itsx is a pretty cool tuner, I ran it for a couple years on my mustang. But I'm also pretty sure it won't support an 96 7.3. Www.sctflash.com doesn't show it as supported for that year and engine
