My Stage 1 injector thread

Hey guys so I had a thread with about a million questions about installing Stage 1 injectors in my truck. Well with a big thanks to Neal and Maintain for answering all my questions I started early this morning to remove my injectors. It was soooo much easier than I thought, got them out in about three hours. Tomorrow Ill be shipping them off to Jim Rosewood to get rebuilt to Stage 1s and then Ill reinstall them. Heres some pics of the removal process

Everything on the outside removed and the valve covers, gasket and UVCH harness and oil galley plugs

All the removed stuff

Now I here is with the injectors and oil deflectors on injectors removed

The injectors all wrapped up

The glow plugs all out

The truck sitting in my friends driveway, his cummins is in the garage which we put 150hp injectors in and my roomates cummins we put 150hp injectors in too

I know I was worried about pulling off the valve covers too but once I did it, it was not bad at all. The glow plugs were pretty easy just a 10mm socket. The way I am doing it is he is rebuilding my stock ones so I can avoid a core charge and he charges 475 for the rebuilt. Im doing it through DIY injectors

Replace the glowplugs now and might as well get some long q tips and clean the cups out if you're anal. You don't have to but it's something you can do.

Looks good. Get your pyro in the exhaust manifold if it's not already too since your injectors are going to bbe A LOT hotter.

Thanks man, I have some new glow plugs arriving on Tuesday, they were in pretty bad shape anyways I got a good amount of white smoke on startup when it was colder. Ill try cleaning the cups out, and the oil galley plugs came out surprisingly easy

Looks good Matt. Jim Rose is a great guy to do business with, he'll treat you right and you'll be jumping with joy when you get the injectors back in the truck. I did some stage 2's and is was the best modification I've done to my truck yet, you'll be just as pleased.
