10k mod help.

i've been reading up on this mod and considering it for my truck.

you guys that've done this...should i do it? i mean i'm all in for some extra hp but how about economy?

how will it idle?

It really varies with the truck. I have loved my 10k mod...Do you have anything else done to the truck? You will enjoy the most power if you dont have any other mods done to truck, with the exception of an intake, and exhaust.....You will probably see close to 20-30hp and up to 50 tq...Some people hate the mod and say it makes their truck idle like crap....Personally, it fixed the rough idle on my truck, and I actually switched to a 5.6k resistor, and got a little bit more power without the idle changing....The resistors are cheap, so buy a few different kinds...And try them all out. It wont hurt anything, and you can always just pop it out. Lots of people say the 5.6k gives them a lope idle, I achieved a lope idle by putting in a 1k resistor....

Just looked at your sig and saw your mods, and it will work fine with them!

I did it, I like it. 10psi of boost for just over a buck! 'cept it idles like crap in the smooth department. 18k will make it perfect, literally. 5.6 makes it lopey for me. ABBOB has a 4.4k and it lopes for him. I didn't realize it made that much more power though 50ftlbs.tq?! Dang!

u said all u do is pop another one in, i thought there was soldering involved?


and could someone give me some insight as to the different size resistors, and which i should try first?

I would go out and buy a pack of each, a 18k, a 10k, and 5.6k....Go to radio shack....If you bend them correctly, they will be long enough to reach without having to solder longer wires onto them.....The claims are that the 5.6k can result in as much as 65 hp, while the 10k usually adds about 20-30hp....

Its really not difficult to do, just try it .

I don't wanna hijack so ill just post a link. This is something that should be discussed and looked at by everyone thinkin about doin this mod.
